My wife has been sent a file in MPE, but cannot open it on her iPad (Version 6.1.3). Nor can she open it on her MacBook (Snow Leopard). The file is sound, and I have played it on this MacBook Air (Mountain Lion).

Any suggestions ?

On her Mac, try changing the file extension from .mpe to .mpg and see if it will play.
