Hi

Am beginner so please some gentle instructions.

I cant get my macbook pro to use my iphone 5 via bluetooth to get onto the internet.

Any suggestions please

Or, in fewer words, no.

As chscag points out, you may be able to "tether" your two devices so both can use the same cellular connection -- but that does not occur via Bluetooth. I hope his link solves your issue, however.
