R Sim 7I recently bought the R-Sim 7 for my Sprint iPhone 4s, trying to use it on t-mobile and it is not working. I go into sim app, choose sprint in auto mode and then reboot, I do this multiple times and yet still no luck, and with or without the patch. I was wondering if i'm doing something wrong, and has anyone had any luck so far with it?

According to the folks I have spoken with at local T-Mobile stores, you should be able to use either version of the iPhone on their network with some limitations. You might want to drop in a T-Mobile store and have them program a SIM card for you to see if it works with your phone. I'm sorry but I don't know anything about the R-Sim 7 or how it works.

I thought T-Mobile and AT&T were GSM and Sprint and Verizon were CDMA. If it's a Sprint Phone, it wouldn't have the antennas for T-Mobile's network, right?

I believe the 4S and 5 can be used on both networks (CDMA and GSM) but the Sprint and Verizon phone would need a sim card. One thing that wasn't mentioned and I'm not sure about... is if the Sprint iPhone is locked to their network.
I know T-Mobile will accommodate iPhones on their network but the question remains about whether it's locked to any of the other networks.

I had the same problem with a sprint iphone4s trying to go to t-mobile. There was a comment on a you tube video that said instead of selecting sprint as the original carrier to select verizon. This worked for me for whatever reason. I tried multiple times to get it to work by selecting sprint as the original carrier but could never get it to work. Also there is a patch I think you are supposed to install first. you can google for that. Good luck.
