    Credit before card
    The missus has an iPhone and a new iTunes account.

    She has a 15 card credited to it but when she buys an app it charges to her credit card rather than using the 15.

    How can this be changed please?

    There's no way that should be happening. Are you sure she applied the credit to the right iTunes account?

    Does the money show up next to her name on the iTunes Store? Did she redeem the code?

    Turns out you are right, she just misunderstood and her credit card was not charged.
