can you delete sms messages through icloud

My iphone has been stolen and i have used iCloud to erase iphone, what i need to know is whether or not iCloud deletes any text messages that were on the phone. i dont really care about whats on there its easily replacable the only things i need t make sure cannot be accessed are my emails and my sms text messages. If anyone could shed some light on whether or not icloud will delete my messages or if there is anoather way to do this or if i could hard reset my iphone using my mac?????

If you've chosen to erase the phone by going to iCloud.com - Find My iPhone - Erase phone - it will erase it to a box fresh state with all content deleted

External hard disk acquisition addict - but admitting the problem is the first step to a robust backup
