ringtones

I just switched to ios6, and my downloaded ringtones have disappeared. They show up on my MacBookPro under the "tones" folder, but I cannot add them to my contacts on my iPhone. what did I do wrong?

Did you import your ringtones into iTunes under the Ringtone section? When you plug in your iPhone, you should be able to select which ones you want to sync with your phone through iTunes.
