1) It isn't neccessary
2) There are ALWAYS risks of something going wrong in an upgrade (or change of any kind)
3) I have a 3Gs and am running iOS 6 with no problems

I've always wanted to be smart, handsome and modest. But, I guess I'll have to be satisfied with two out of three . . .

If it's truly IOS3 I would update to something newer as that is not going to support a lot of Apps. I keep forgetting just how old the 3GS is!

Running iOS 6 on my 3GS here also and no problems.

Updated mine via wi-fi. It did take awhile even after the download was complete - maybe an hour total.

You'll need to provide your Apple ID when downloading anything from the app store - even the free stuff.

Well I did the io6 update and now my iphone is cooked

No 3g, no wireless and even my phone reception is right down

Really gutted, dont know what to do...

Might swell add its now killing the battery power

Ive check everywhere and there doesnt seem to be a solution except for 'hacking my phone'

Is there anything I can do as this isn't a new phone and the apple shop is miles away from here
QUOTE Thanks
