Is there any official application on apple store that i can download or purchase to open and extract .RAR file.

In case if not, is the application name UNRARX a reliable application for mac OSX?

It's not free but many here like Better Zip. It does pretty much everything!

There is also Unarchiver that I think is donation ware. It's on the store.

If you're only looking to decompress a RAR archive, UnRARX will do the job nicely.
