Playing Podcasts/Music through the phone NOT the speaker

Is there a way with some third party app to play my podcasts or what not via the phone and not trough the speaker? Lets say I am in an environment such as a library and I forget my earphones. I do not want to play via the speaker but through the phone when I hold it up to my ear. On my old BB there was a way to do this, but not sure about the iphone. Is there a way?

Not that I know of, sorry.

Try not to forget your earphones and perhaps avoid listening to podcasts without earphones in, you know, a library.
