why when I sync my imac or macbook pro with my iphone 4 the info only goes one way, from i phone to the others and not vice versa as well?

When the iPhone is connected to iTunes, select it in the left panel - then select the info panel along the top of the iTunes window next to summary. Enable sync contacts there, choosing whichever options you require.
Now sync the phone.

I've done this about 100 hundred times since last September successfully, till a week ago. I erased everything on the iphone and synced it again, it worked but it leaves some addresses out, it does not take all of them!!!??? It was working perfectly before, is that a bug? Thank you for your response
