I purchased an iPad 2 and loved everything about it and essentially came to replace my laptop around the house. With my good experience with the iPad I decided to purchase a mac mini so I could have the full function of a computer when I needed it but use the iPad for less intensive mobile use, while still be able to run windows on my mac.
I now am trying to decide between purchasing and Android phone (likely Galaxy Nexus) vs the iPhone 4S. I am curious what benefit I will get from having an iPad, Mac Mini and iPhone all running together and what disadvantages I would get trying to make an Android phone compatible with my system. I have also purchased/downloaded around 80 applications for my iPad. For applications that I had to pay for will I be able to download them to an iPhone without paying again? I am also concerned that I usually purchase iPad applications in the app store and not sure if they are compatible with the iPhone. Thanks for helping out a n00b with these basic questions. |

If you do decide to get an Android phone you will be buying double apps all day long if you want the same stuff on both devices. 15" 2.4GHz i5 256gb SSD MacBook Pro | Dual Drive 2.3GHz i5 Mac mini w/SSD | 11" 1.7GHz i5 64gb MacBook Air | Dual 2.0GHz PowerMac G5 | 24" ACD | 16GB Verizon iPhone 5 | iPad 32GB Verizon LTE | iPad mini 16GB | TV1 | TV3 |

On your iPad you can go to the app store and hit the purchased tab and you will see everything that you have downloaded. You can do te same on an iPhone if you decide to get one.

Glad to see you are enjoying your iPad 2. I love mine. I think you'll be very happy with the iPhone, especially since you have purchased so many apps. The great thing about the iPhone is its portability. Some apps also do a great job of keeping data in sync no matter what iOS device you are using. Evernote comes to mind here. Having multiple iOS devices seems to make them even more useful, especially when you throw in cloud enabled apps.
