uploading i phone to mac

recently I needed a new hard drive for my Macbook air,and I want to upload my contacts from my i phone 4 to my laptop

There are several ways to do this, dependant on whether you're using iCloud, gmail exchange sync or one of dozens of other services.

But the most basic method is to just sync you iPhone with iTunes. Ticking the sync contacts option.
