Who knows? Maybe they are adding P.C chat later. Just look for updates for Skype.

Why would I talk to PC users?

But seriously, I use the iPhone Skype app just fine on the iPad for audio. For the iPad 2, there's not much there yet but I assume that will change. And given what an awful job Skype did on the most recent version of their Mac tool (so bad they are now bribing their own userbase to re-design it for them via a contest!), I'm not sure I WANT them to design an iPad app until they get someone on their staff who understands functionality and design!

Yeah I can't believe who bad Skype have been with all of this, no native iPad app of any kind, crazy

For now, your solution is the mobile phone.

And this actually works pretty well. I Face Timed (is that the way to say that?) with my brother and nephews a couple of weeks ago and was surprised at how clear the iPhone 4 front facing camera is for VGA quality.

16GB iPhone 5, 64GB Wi-Fi only iPad 1st Gen.
