Hi
I am going on holiday for 3 weeks to america shortly, and do often. I currently have a iPhone 4 on O2.
If I purchase an AT and T sim will it work in my phone?
O2 will rip me off with call prices any suggestions?
Cheers
Will

If you bought the iPhone straight from O2 then it will be locked to only using their network. The only option would be to look into Jailbreak/ Unlock.

My suggestion... get a cheap PAYG phone on AT&T for while you are over there.

Or, get an unlocked iPhone 4, which should then work with the AT&T sim card. Just make sure the unlocked iPhone is using GMA. (Which is what AT&T uses.) German T-Mobile unlocked iPhones work in the US with an AT&T sim card.

Yes, all european (GSM) iPhones you've bought outright will work with AT&T (calls and 3G data) and T-Mobile (calls & slower EDGE data).

However if you got your iPhone on a contract, you can't just swap the SIM unfortunately. You could either pay roaming costs (expensive) or just stick to making voice calls and use wifi wherever possible.
