4.2 is it safe if using an Ipad an Iphone 4
I couldn't see this had already been answered but sorry if it has. I want to upgrade to 4.2 for my Iphone 4 and Ipad but last time I upgraded to 4.0 on my 3g it broke the phone. I am a little wary of doing this and would be grateful if people could please advise if its ok to upgrade or is it full of bugs?

I have seen there are issues on 3g and 3gs but wont be upgrading the 3g only the newer devices.

    Specs:
    MacBook Pro 15" 2014, 2.2GHz i7, 16GB RAM, 250GB SSD, OSX 10.9.5 - iPhone 5s 16gb
Devices that were released with 4.0 like the iphone 4 shouldn't have any problems at all, the ipad shouldn't either. Most problems arose because the device (mainly the iphone 3g) couldn't handle the latest update with the hardware it had. The new 4.2 update should be ok for the iphone 3g now aswell. (according to apple)

Upgraded my iPhone 4 and iPad. Both are working perfectly fine. No issues at all.

Your iPhone 4 will be fine. I would pass on the 3G though.
