Could the iPad Tablet's OS run on the iPad Tablet if it had this hardware change?

Not likely since it doesn't use an Intel processor and as such, it would have to be recompiled to work with it (if it could).

OS X as nice as it is is too heavy for what the tablet is designed and intended for. Eventually people will understand the nature of where technology is leading. THINK THINCLIENT. longer battery life and a more intimate experience for the user. THe IPAD is the beginning of that threshold we are crossing.
