Hello all. My younger brother(13) was given an iPod Touch 3rd gen 3G for Christmas. As of recent events, involving pornography and severe computer viruses, he is no longer allowed to access our internet via computer. However, we are now worried about his usage on the iPod.

Is there any way we can limit his internet usage on this device? We really just need to prohibit him from accessing any type of pornography at all times.

Thanks in advance!

Hello and welcome. If you go to settings / general / restrictions and turn off access to safari. Make sure you all so set a good password to stop him from resetting it.

There are also 3rd party filters for the iPod touch that you can have installed on safari such as Mobicip. I don't know much about it, but you might want to do a search for 3rd party iPod touch web filters.

Your router may allow you to block internet access for specific computers on your network. I do this for my XP computer to eliminate the need for antivirus. If you can access the router's web-based setup, look under access control. I've had best luck by using the MAC address method for which you'll need the MAC address of your brother's Touch.
