iPod Touch wont show up

So Im trying to get my songs off my iPod onto my MBP. I connected my iPod but it wont show up on my MBP. Please Help!!!!

I already have the software. But My iTouch wont pop up on my desktop.

iPhones and iPod Touches will not show up as a desktop icon. This is because, unlike the all non-touch iPods, they do not have a hard disk mode. If the software you are trying to use to get your music off of your touch relies on the disk mode feature, it will not work.

I am going to do some searching to see if I can find a touch compatible software to help you out.
