11-17-2008, 06:03 PM #1Using iTunes with external HDD
I was told it is possible to link iTunes to an external device and sync through that. Basically i don't want all my music and vids clogging up my macs Hard Drive...
I have got up to this point...
But... This has left my library empty and i get this...
And yes the external HDD is currently plugged in
Any help would be appreciated

you move the library to external HD, then in iTunes prefefs go to advanced and change the locationMac is like a car, keep clean and up to date and it will give you many hours of good driving

Its been a long time since, but thats how I have my setup. The upside is not bogging down your main drive makes your computer run faster, and you can unplug and go with your library. On the downside if you don't use your drive for a while it will turn off and when you go to itunes it will takes 4-5 seconds to wake the drive up. A minor nuisance if you're the kind of guy that is particular about things.
heres a link to an official article that should help
