I was writing something on text edit and accidentally closed it without saving it, how can I restore what I just wrote?

You waited 11 min, on a work day none-the-less. Give it some time man! lol.

I know when I am typing stuff it usually makes a temp file before I save, but that is in the directory of my saved file. So, there should be a temp file somewhere, but I don't know where.

I don't think you're going to be able to retrieve that. If there was a temp file, it should be dumped when you close the app.

Btw - nevermind only waiting 11 minutes on a workday - today's election day - you might need a bit of patience round here.

You need to get into the habit of saving periodically especially if it's something you need.
