Mail Ringtone... not ringing!

Hi all;

My iPhone is set to Push/Fetch emails every 15 minutes. However, when a new email comes in (and the iPhone sleeps) there is no notification at all.

In the settings> sounds; the "ringtone" for mail is ON.

When I awake my iPhone, I can see the updated Mail icon with emails that came in, but no notification ever sounded.

Is this normal?? What to do??

... I just realized that even if the iPhone is awake, the Mail icon will update but the sound wont come off!!!!

PLEASE HELP!

Yeah same here. Apple have been highly criticized in Japan as SMS is only within the same network and e-mails are used between networks.

Silly question, but is the ringer switch set to silent?
