Truphone: Is there a way to setup a US no?

I installed Truphone on my UK iphone. I would like to get a US based truphone cell no so people can call me on it.

Is there a way to do this?

Also will Truphone run on the 3G phone without wifi? On my 2G its only usable on Wifi.
