how are you trying to connect - through cable to your comp or to the store via the phone.

Not sure I will be able to help but it may help other people answer your question.

I'm having the same issue. Now my phone is locked and I can't reactivate it until their servers come back around.

It'll recognize my phone on the left hand side but I cannot manage any of my tabs. The main body of iTunes just says "iPhone". Maybe it's just because apple's servers are inundated?

It's like husky said, since the update, the phone shows up in iTunes but I don't have any of the tabs.

On the phone's screen it only shows the icons that tell you to connect it to iTunes.
