Hello,

I have a Windows 2000 network consisting of about 5 PC's I am wanting to add an iBook to it.

I have been told networking it shouldn't be to difficult but if anyone disagrees I would appreciate all opinions.

My main concern is being able to use MS Access, I have been shown a utility called Remote Desktop Client. It can be found on the microsoft werbsite at http://www.microsoft.com/mac in the left column select other products and it is there.

All I want to be ble to do is, use internet, share files and use access. Is this possible or would you all think that it is to hard?

Looking to buy the iBook in an hour or two.

Thankyou very much,
Dave.

Windows and Mac talk very happily to each other, I've got 3 PCs on my network plus my PowerBook, they are all running Windows XP (pretty much 2000).

What version of Windows 2000 have you got? The remote desktop only works in the following:
Windows XP Professional
Windows Server 2003
Windows 2000 Server
Windows 2000 Advanced Server
Windows 2000 Datacenter Server
Windows NT® Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition

Remote Desktop simply puts your Windows desktop onto your Mac. You might as well use one of your other computers. Virtual PC can run Windows applications for you on your Mac, but does not rely on a network and a connection to a server - it runs straight off your Mac.

Read that for some more information.

Hope that helps.
