Hello, I've recently purchased a new MacBook (2.2ghz 2gb ram)

I have a broadband internet connection... Siemens SpeedStream 4200 Ethernet/USB ADSL modem.

I want to buy a wireless router that will work with my MacBook....but I know nothing about wireless networking.

It's the cheapest one i could find.... but under system requirements it only shows windows.. and it says it uses 802.11g wireless....doesnt macbook use some new one, like 802.11n ? Does that letter even matter?

That one seems like its for mac....but says mac os X 10.4....i have Leopard which is 10.5 And its also more expensive.

Are any of those 3 routers good for my macbook?

If it supports OS 10.4 then and Leopard is backward compatible you shouldn't have any problem. The fact that you can set it up with you browser is a huge selling point for me. That pretty much just makes the requirements a good browser.

If you can set it up with your browser instead of software being sent from your computer to your router than the operating system shouldn't matter. I also noticed the first one doesn't tell you what type of encryption it supports.

Are the same. the first one is just higher priced. Both are WBR-1310 routers from D-Link

Your macbook is made to run at "N" network speeds, however it will also run at "G" speeds no problem. G is slower than N but at 54 Mbps it's still very fast.

Oh wow i feel like a dummy after reading the networking FAQ.
I thought macbook since its 802.11n wont work with a 802.11g router...then i realized the n and g just mean different speeds.

That one should be ok? Im concerned under requirements it only lists windows.... think they just forgot to mention mac OS ?

I am not sure if this one would work for your mac. if you have a PC to set it up with then it will work.
