I have an iBook with Panther on it, and I set it up to have the firewall just on my Personal File Sharing. However, when I added a PC to my network (I have a D-Link switch and a Motorolla Cable box) I could not get it online for anything. Finally, I tried turning off the firewall on my iBook, and the PC got online. I guess I'm fairly new to the firewall thing, can anyone give me some insight on it? I know you can allow access to specific ports, but why would it block my PC from getting online?
Much appreciation!!! |
