Hi,

I recently bought a MacBook (white) and it runs like a charm.
The Wifi reception is very good when I run my MacBook with the built-in screen (no external monitor).
However, as soon as I attach my 20" Samsung SyncMaster 203B via the mini DVI connector to my MacBook, the internet connection slows down considerably and it also happens occasionally that it enitrely looses the connection to the router. Unplugging the mini DVI connector immediately allows me to reconnect again. It took me some time to figure out that the external monitor was the cause.

Has anyone else experienced such a problem or even knows how to solve it?

Cheers!

Are you closing the screen when the external is connected?

Oh. Then I can't think of any reason, other than the screen is blocking the antennas...

Call apple.

I also have a MacBook that I'm using with and external Samsung LCD monitor. When I have the external monitor plugged in and turned on my MacBook can't connect to the internet via WiFi. When I leave the external monitor plugged in but simply turn off the power my WiFi magically works again! So, what is the deal with the Samsung monitor blocking the WiFi signal when turned on? Has anyone figured out a reason?

I have exactly the same problem. I plug my samsung 204B monitor on my MacBook Pro and the Wifi connection stop. It happen only when the setting is 1600x1200. With a low definition the wifi is working.
Have some information ? where does the problem come ? Samsung or Mac ?
Thanks for you help.

This is really odd. I wonder how these two systems are connected? Have you updated to 10.5.3 yet?

Definitely sounds like interference. Worth trying another channel on your router?

I was thinking the same thing. Try router on another channel. However if any are like like my router, the 108mps is only available on channel 6.
