how to use the Mac book remote control with loudspeakers thru Airport?

Macbook + Airport Xpress + JBL loudspeakers + iTunes
Airport base station is selected in iTunes
The Mac remote control volume buttons control only the Mac speakers (not used at this time), not the one behind the Airport. How to control the sound level with the remote control?
