Airport Extreme problem

This will take some explaining. I live in a remote area in Arizona on solar power. I have satellite internet service and recently got an Airport Extreme base station and card for my 15" G4 Powerbook. It works superbly, with one exception: Quite often when I put the Powerbook to sleep and wake it up with the Airport on, it won't connect. I can't get web service or email; the little side lights on the base station don't flash, and the Airport icon at the top of the screen is gone. To connect again I either have to reboot or run the Airport setup assistant. Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be wrong? Thanks for any input.

Don't forget to use the new User Reputation System

Thanks, I'll check that. It's a strange problem.
