I am connecting a mac to a windows domain vpn. when i am behind my linksys router at home my vpn will not connect but if i bypass it and put it on my public ip address it connect's does anyone know if this is a port blocking problem if so what port do i need to open up im using the pptp protocol. and the log shows connect:ppp0 socket 34:17

Depends... The linksys I have only supports L2PT, IPSEC, and PPTP. I had to toggle these on. Then there is SSL and Vista's SSTP type VPN connections, which you would need to possible enable, but I'd think if you're not to strong on security then it would be allowed anyway- SSTP is just running over port 443.
