newbie alert. help with port forwarding

i'm trying to do this whole port forwarding thing so i can download a torrent. i'm on an ibook and have access to high speed internet. is there a simple way to do this?

Mac Specs: 21in iMac core2 Duo- 13in macbook - 10.9 on both
