cqnt connect using bluenext usb adapter

hi there;
can anyone help? i;m trying to connect to a wireless network using an appleG4 imac and a usb wireless adapter; I have been given the WEP codes but I think I need more info. does anyone know what information I need in order to get on the net?
If you can help will be a life saver. have got lots of work to compltet and need to be connected asap.
