I currently have a Drobo attached to an iMac via firewire. I use this for my iTunes library which is quite large. I'm also using my iMac to run Logitech Media Server and stream music to a Squeezebox attached to my home stereo.
I have a second Drobo that I use to manually backup the first one. I currently do this by physically plugging in the Backup Drobo to my iMac and backing up using SuperDuper. What I'm interested in doing is setting up a separate dedicated always-on computer for streaming audio, probably a Mac Mini. This remote computer would live on my home network and be attached to the Backup Drobo. I'm not sure how best to backup the Drobo drive attached to my iMac, to the Backup Drobo attached to remote computer. SuperDuper doesn't "see" the external drive attached to the remote computer. Would something like Forklift allow me to mount the remotely attached external drive to my iMac? |
