Hi everyone,
This is a weird issue that I'm experiencing on one of the Macs at the office (running OS 10.4.11). We have three others and they can all connect to our Windows share fine, but this one is different. It can connect, but when you look at the shared drive in the Finder, you can't see any folders. See pictures below... Here I am connecting to the server by IP address... http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/6948/picture3eh.png It connects fine, and can see our Shared drive. Inside the drive are our company folders (accounting, sales, etc.). http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/3117/picture4jf.png Upon hitting OK, it connects, but then there are no folders to choose from (on the left). There should be maybe 20 in there. http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/7259/picture5hl.png I've tried turning Windows Sharing on/off, tried rebooting, tried ejecting the connection and trying again, all for naught. Any ideas? They would be much appreciated. Let me know if you need any more information. Max |

Thank you for replying.
Checking the Volumes folder, all I see is the Macintosh HD. See picture below. http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/5933/picture1zk.png Hmm... anything else I can try? The user is starting to get upset that I haven't been able to fix it

Here is what I got... when I connected to the Shared drive again, the IP address actually showed up in the Volumes folder this time. It wasn't there before, so it's not like it wasn't getting properly disconnected like you suggested before, but at least we're able to see it now...
http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/9483/picture2tiv.png Typing "ls -la" didn't do anything, so it's still not seeing any folders in there. Interestingly, while looking at the drive, I noticed something strange... When I choose Get Info on the "Shared" drive this is what I get... you'll notice that it says she has full read/write permission... http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/2030/picture1pj.png But when I choose Get Info on the new "10.1.2.98" drive this is instead what I get... note that it says she has NO permission... http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/821/picture3aos.png Is the Mac seeing the Shared drive and the 10.1.2.98 as two separate drives (which they're not)? |
