modem unexpectedly hangs up

sober89 is offline
when downloading software using dial-up connection, the modem unexpectedly hangs up. Using OSX 10.4.11. Can anyone help?

Mac Specs: iMac i5 2.7GHz OS X.9.4 and OS X.10

Do you have a limit set by your ISP? Yonks ago my ail ISP used to cut connection after some period downloading - can't remember the time limit however. Can you subscribe to DSL at all?

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!
