How Can I Reduce Data Usage on 3/4G Modem?

Greetings,

I'm looking for ways to reduce the amount of data we use on a Verizon 3/4G air card modem. We have already turned off the automatic updates and we don't down load movies or a ton of youtube videos. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
