I am using a USB dongle in order to access the Internet via the local mobile service. Had it working very well earlier yesterday.
Unfortunately I cannot get access at this stage. Error message indicates that device has been disconnected or unavailable. I had zapped the app, reinstalled etc. But problem persists. Any pointers to get this resolved? This is quite an urgent matter. Kind regards. |

If it's urgent I'd suggest contacting the supplier/carrier direct.
Aside from that please post back with which Mac you have, which version of OSX, which make/model of dongle and carrier you're using. I am sitting in a small crew camp many kilometers removed from the service provider. In Africa on Lake Abert on the Uganda/DRC border. Running 10.7.2 on a 2011 13" MBP using a MTN (service provider) dongle. The USB dongle is a Huawei model E156G. Hope that information might help. Regards. |

I appreciate your location is remote from the provider but if you have mobile data coverage I'm guessing you'll be able to call them.
Aside from failure of the hardware if nothing else has changed on the machine then the issue is most likely a service provider issue and not something local. If you're unable a contact the supplier you can do a limited amount of debugging (some of which you've tried: - uninstall/reinstall - check in Network to see if the device is listed - reset your network settings External hard disk acquisition addict - but admitting the problem is the first step to a robust backup Please use the reputation system if you think you've been helped - top right of this post |
