G4 internet

Hi Guys n girls,

just a shot in the dark but I have an old G4 macbook that holds the wifi internet connection for about 45mins then drops out.. once it drops out it won't come back until the machine has been off for a while.. I think something is over heating and breaking the connection. When it cools obviously it reconnects. I just need to know if it is something anyone has encountered before and if there is a solution,

You could either have a look inside at the airport card to check it out , iFixit should have a guide about how to get inside the mac, but it sounds like heat is either causing the card to fail or affecting one of the internal connections.

Alternatively you could just buy a wireless USB dongle and use that to access the network rather than the unreliable internal card.
