I get this error message when trying to connect to my Win XP PC.

This problem can occur if:

• The remote computer is running a version of Windows that is earlier than Windows Vista.
• The remote computer is configured to support only the RDP security layer.

Contact your administrator, or the owner of the remote computer for assistance.

Do you want to connect anyway?

Should I just avoid this error message?

I'm not sure I understand what it is you're trying to do? Are you attempting to connect to a WinXP machine from a Mac or from another Win machine?

In any event keep things simple. Download and install LogMein, it's free. Read directions on their website. It works with both Macs and PCs even in a mixed environment.

Another alternative is CoRD. I find it to be a bit more robust and stable than Microsoft's RDP client.
