im having all sorts of problems with my airport card in my quad g5... when i first wanted to connect wirelessly it said "no airport card installed " soi thought it didnt have one and hunted around for one then it miraculously appeared and worked beautifully... we moved house and now it has disapeared again saying it is not installed. i would like to find out if in the move it got dislodged but cannot find it? can anyone post a picture to show me as i don't really know what im looking for... i know its not easy to install one but i didn't think it would be so hard to see it at all... any other tips on how i can find it again would be greatly appreciated . it says it just not there when i look for it....

cheers

If it is the 2006 model G5 quad, it is a Dual Core and they have a different system of a combined Airport/Bluetooth card, complete with a stand-off card and special mounting screws. Apple decreed this was not a serviceable part and it is hard to find instructions for it.

The antenna leads are very delicate on Dual Cores so that may be the problem if you are having trouble.

Beware. New G5s do NOT take older AP Extreme cards - AppleInsider

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!
