connecting bluetooth to pioneer via adapter

I am trying to connect a Pioneer vsx1020 to my imac OS 10.4.11 via a bluetooth adapter as-bt100.
It will briefly display on the bluetooth device page and then disappears.
I have tried multiple times and can't seem to get anywhere.
My goal is to be able to listen to my itunes music library wirelessly via my receiver.
Does anyone out there have any suggestions?

OS X 10.4 doesn't support A2DP Bluetooth, at least not natively. Recommend upgrading to 10.5 if you can.
