I just got the ASUS RT-N16 router so that I could connect my external HDD to it and use it as a NAS. The external HDD I'm speaking of is one that I've been using to backup files and I store my iTunes library on there. When I plug in the external HDD to the RT-N16 the router software tells me it's attached, but it's unmounted. When I click on the external HDD it gives me no option to mount it. So I have 2 questions:
1) How do I mount the external HDD that's attached to the router? 2) I read somewhere that the HDD needs to be in "ext3" format? Does that mean I have to reformat my HDD, thereby erasing all its contents, to do this? I've spent the better part of 4 hours trying to figure this out. Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated. |
