I just got two new computers. One an iBook 12in and the other a 17in SD iMac. I already have an iMac at home that is connected to the internet by DSL. I was wondering if it is possible to get the iMac that is hooked up to the internet to act as a "hub" so that the other computers could use the internet??

I got it so that the other two realize that a network is there and the one says that it is connected to the net but it will not let me browse the net. What am i doing wrong??

If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks

On your iMac you need to have Internet sharing turned on and also turn on Personal Web Sharing and it should work just fine

I would suggest getting a wireless router and connecting your DSL modem to that. That way, you'll be messing less with the computers' settings and your Internet connection will not require a particular machine's being turned on.

Wireless routers are insanely cheap these days-- I've seen 802.11g units for under $20.

Have you activated personal web sharing under the firewall settings? (also in the sharing menu).

I have that sme router and it's terrible, even with the latest firmware. It drops out at least 2x/day. I hope you have better luck with yours.
