So I'm sitting here with the Time Warner Cable install guy and we are both stumped.
Here's what's happening. Originally my internet was going in and out.. so we today the tech. replaced the modem, checked the line, and all is well. BUT.. whenever we'd hook up the Ethernet directly to my macbook pro it would give a false IP.. and would go in and out. We resolved this by just going wireless and through the linksys router.. this resolved the issue BUT now whenever I try and use speakeasy.com or speedtest.net to get my internet speeds it shows the download (17.0mbps+) with a ping around 19 but it hangs on the upload (on both sites) and then just times out. I've tried this on TWO macbook pros sitting here and the same problem with both. One I exited out the browser, went back in and the internet was back but the other one had to be restarted and then all is fine. The kicker is that when he does the same thing on his PC netbook it shows an upload and all is well. ALSO, when I upload an image to my photobucket account it goes through just fine, but when I hit up those sites to test speeds I get the same problems. Can anyone think of an answer for this? |

example.
My girlfriend is on her macbook pro, i'm on mine both on the same network. I just ran a speakeasy test and got these results.. BUT the upload never initiated and it killed my internet (had to restart). All the time being, her internet never crapped out. what is going on here? |

Just thought of something else: Maybe it's a setting in Flash. Michael
