hi mac pplz. i have a bit of a problem here. i live in a thick brick house. my wireless network is basically confined to the room it is in. so i am expanding my linksys e1000 using an airport extreme. the question is how? i am ok with using the airport as a base instead of the linksys, but would perfer the linksys stays the base and the extreme the expander. how can i link these two in order to network my house? when i hit the expand wireless network tab on the airport setup and choose my network, it says network cannot be expanded. any ideas from you smart folks here in the forums? thanks.

See if this helps at all. It did with another user here at one point. If not let us know.

Using the AirPort Admin Utility to create a WDS network with multiple base stations
