Sure you can...just turn off your airport...or unplug your ethernet cable if plugged in.

I actually use Ethernet for my iMac, because the 50MB broadband service won't give full speed through wi-fi.

I'm with you. Wireless is much more convenient but my desk is right next to my router and so is my server so it seemed easier. Plus, I think there are some interference issues (my connection would go crazy once in a while).
