I have a Canon Multi Function Pixma MP630 (duplex printer) on a home wireless network consisting of a new iMac & MacBook using a brand new Airport Express. Everything works fine except the scanning.
I have had help from both Canon and Apple and both say it should work but neither can show me how. Canon say it is a common problem with some of their Multi Function scanners and is looking into it further but there are no guarantees.
I would like to know if there are other users who are able to scan wirelessly from their Multi Function printers on an Airport Express network.

Did it work out later on? We have bought a Pixma MP640, but the box is still closed. We don't have Airport Express, but DLink. I wonder how it will go.

I use a HP F4580 and scan wirelessly over an Airport Express based network.

No we have not been able to get the scanning to work wirelessly. The Canon people have let Apple know about the problem and it is now up to Apple to remedy the problem.

Apparently the MP630 will scan on Windows networks.

I am still not able to get my MP630 to scan wirelessly and now I am have problems printing from my VMWare virtual machine on Windows XP.

Have you installed your MP640 as yet? How is it going?

I have used a Pixma 980 and 990 on our wireless network and have had scanning working. Unfortunately I can't say exactly what got things working. I installed and re-installed the drivers several times before i got it working.

I think I ended up using drivers that were on the Canon site. I used the 980 and 990s built in wireless networking. If I pugged the 980 or 990 directly into the Time Capsule's USB port. Printing worked but you lost the ability to check ink levels etc. I spent quite a bit of time working o is before getting it working. One of the annoying things I found was the need to install the driver with the printer/scanner attached via USB.
