imac 2.4 not holding wireless connection

I am trying to get my mac onto wireless network like my windows which works perfectly. When i fill out the connection settings and password it works fine until i shut the computer down, on restart i then lose the connection and have to reset all again.

Why does it not retain the password when i tick the box, how can i get it to hold the settings

What kind of security are you using? WEP? WPA? WPA2? If by chance you're using WEP, change it to at least WPA. WEP is problematic in that the hex password does not always work or remembered. Not only that, WEP is very easy to crack.
