Internet connections problems via wireless cable internet.

I just upgraded my internet from dsl to highspeed 10mbps cable. However now when I try to connect my Macbook Pro to it I always get these lag spikes that seems to come in set intervals, some fast and some really fast. None of the other computers I own have this problem and it's only my Mac that does it. Before I upgraded my internet I had no problem. Is it because of the Mac itself, or the internet router, or the modem? Thanks!
