    Safari is soooo slow...
    Hi all,

I have searched the forum for help but have not found an answer yet. Safari can be very slow at loading pages or websites. While some sites are fine, others can be painfully slow. I have reset Safari, I am using Open DNS settings and have tried other browsers to no avail. I am using a new 21.5 inch iMac with a broadband connection, and a wireless router; Belkin G model which I have rebooted.

Does anyone have any advice please!!??

    Thanks,
    Rick

Is your connection password protected? If so what kind, and if not...WHY NOT?

Have you done a comparison with the iMac connected by ethernet - might tell u if it is a Safari issue.

Yes, I am password protected > WPA2. To connect by ethernet, should I connect the iMac directly to the modem before the router or should I use an ethernet port on the router? Also, this Belkin is a G router while the iMac uses N technology; perhaps I should upgrade to an N router??

    An N router would help.

To try ethernet, connect to the router. Shouldn't be any reason to remove it from the picture at this point.
